چکیده
In this paper, a thermomechanical problem involving viscoelastic Timoshenko beam is analyzed from numerical point of view. The so-called thermodiffusion effects are also included in the model. written as linear system composed two second-order-in-time partial differential equations for transverse displacement and rotational movement, first-order-in-time temperature chemical potential. corresponding variational formulation leads to coupled first-order terms velocity, rotation speed, existence uniqueness solutions, well energy decay property, stated. Then, we focus on approximation weak by using implicit Euler scheme discretize time derivatives classical finite element method approximate spatial variable. A discrete stability property some priori error estimates shown, which can conclude convergence approximations under suitable additional regularity conditions. Finally, simulations performed demonstrate accuracy scheme, behavior dependence solution with respect parameters.

متن کاملFinite element analysis of a rigid beam to column connection reinforced with channels
Abstract: This research work presents a new rigid connection constructed with channels. In order to assess its hysteresis behavior, three specimens with different cover plates and six specimens with different panel zone thickness have been considered. The energy absorbed by the connection and the behavior of the panel zone were studied during cyclic loading and compared with those of connectio...
متن کاملDynamic Response of an Axially Moving Viscoelastic Timoshenko Beam
In this paper, the dynamic response of an axially moving viscoelastic beam with simple supports is calculated analytically based on Timoshenko theory. The beam material property is separated to shear and bulk effects. It is assumed that the beam is incompressible in bulk and viscoelastic in shear, which obeys the standard linear model with the material time derivative. The axial speed is charac...
متن کاملError analysis of finite element and finite volume methods for some viscoelastic fluids
We present the error analysis of a particular Oldroyd-B type model with the limiting Weissenberg number going to infinity. Assuming a suitable regularity of the exact solution we study the error estimates of a standard finite element method and of a combined finite element/finite volume method. Our theoretical result shows first order convergence of the finite element method and the error of th...
متن کاملAn accurate novel coupled f ie ld Timoshenko piezoelec - tr ic beam finite element with induced potential effects
An accurate coupled field piezoelectric beam finite element formulation is presented. The formulation is based on First-order Shear Deformation Theory (FSDT) with layerwise electric potential. An appropriate through-thickness electric potential distribution is derived using electrostatic equilibrium equations, unlike conventional FSDT based formulations which use assumed independent layerwise l...
